New Features -- Where Am I? Where's My Car?
The nüvi 700 series is the first to answer two common questions: "Where am I?" and "Where’s my car?"

At any time, with a single tap of the screen, drivers can display their exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and gas stations. And to help drivers find their car in an unfamiliar spot or vast parking lot, all nüvi 700s automatically mark the position in which they were last removed from the mount.
New Features -- Multi-Destination Routing
This lets you enter several spots into the device (day care - supermarket-cleaners - office - day care, for example) and it will plot the fastest route. And once you've found the best router, the "Route Planning" feature lets you save up to 10 different routes, Garmin touts the feature for providing, "the most efficient route for errands, deliveries and sales calls." The feature also makes this an instant essential accessory for anyone who shops garage sales (you know what we're talking about).
A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so you can see where you've been on the map.

The super-bright, 4.3-inch (diagonal) touchscreen display gives is anti-glare for ease of viewing during the day and automatically changes its color profile for easy viewing at night or in dim light. It offers 2d or 3D perspective views.
The widescreen format gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. This is especially useful in showing you what parks, restaurants, ATM, gas stations, etc. are nearby, or in letting you know whether a detour is a good idea. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

First Rate Map Data
All nüvi 700s come preloaded with highly detailed City Navigator NT road maps for the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This map database features nearly six million points of interest (POIs), including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. Garmin gets its map data from NAVTEQ, a world leader in premium-quality mapping.

Hands-Free Calling

Steer clear of traffic with an integrated FM traffic receiver designed to receive alerts from TMC Clear Channel about traffic tie-ups and road construction that might lie ahead on your route. All you have to do is simply touch the screen to view traffic details and you'll be ready to detour around any problem area. And if you end up missing a turn, or you're forced into a detour that is not relayed through the traffic receiver, the nüvi's sophisticated automatic routing will get you back on track in no time.
In most areas, TMC Clear Channel traffic broadcasts are continuous — there's no waiting for scheduled traffic news updates or random alerts. Because traffic broadcasts are received via a "silent" FM data channel, you can still listen to music or news programming on your car radio without interference from incoming FM traffic data transmissions.

Nothing special 2
I travel quite a bit and have come across many GPS units.
The best GPS unit by far that I have come across was the built-in GPS system in my Audi S4. It blows away any GPS unit out there today.
I purchased this Garmin because I now bought a Porsche, and the adding factory GPS would have put the car way over budget.
I am not very happy with the Garmin from several perspectives, and I am writing a comparative review based on my experience with other GPS units, mainly the Audi Navigation Plus system.
re-routing on the Garmin is slow. The text to speech is horrible sometimes. For example: Tribourough Bridge is actually pronounced "tree borough branch". It is so far behind what I am used to. Sometimes words are cut off as if the unit does not have enough computational power to perform the task.
There are several features missing such as - intersection zoom, split screen turn/intersection approach, ability to display gas stations on the map, rather than a weak listing.
There is no warning for exits, only .2 mile warning. Other units warn you "prepare to turn left" within 2 miles. Sucks when you have to switch over 4 lanes.
Not impressed at all with this unit, and it is one of the higher end units. You might as well just grab another unit - or look at a competitor, OR if you can fork over the money, test out the factory GPS of the car you are looking at.

Very Easy to use 4
My fiancee and I bought this with the intention of letting her find different routes and traffic warnings to her new job and for us to use on weekend trips, etc. We tested it out all weekend going random places in the area and comparing its directions to the way we would take, it was pretty good. Very easy to use its main features and most importantly it clearly speaks the directions (including street names usually). The only two problems with it so far are:
1. It can be difficult to program in a custom route, especially when the spots you want to mark have no mailing address, like a highway.
2. Yesterday the device stopped talking though and it took a while to find the option to enable the voice again. We don't know why it got toggled off in the first place.
Overall the experience has been fine though, including the hands-free phone through bluetooth. I would recommend the device to anyone considering it.

Best that I've owned 5
To make a long story short, but hopefully helpful to someone interested. I have owned or had experience with Tom Tom, Magellan, Sony, and Harmon Kardon. I recently picked up the Garmin nuvi 760 this year. It is by FAR the best GPS system I have owned or ever used!! It has the fastest most detailed routing, and it is by far the most accurate unit I have ever used. It has taken me pretty much to the doorstep of every address I have thrown at it. TRUST me, for the price Amazon has it for, GRAB ONE! I went to a local radioshack, they wanted TRIPLE the price! Same with a local Circuitcity.
Please note that there is NO PERFECT GPS SYSTEM. This unit has been wonderful and has been right 98% of the time. It's never made a big mistake like I experienced with Tom Tom(STAY AWAY).
