Sony reportedly is working on a Chrome OS netbook. This means that Asus will not be the only company launching a Chrome OS netbook this summer. Sony Insider reports that Sony Chrome netbook has a 11.6-inch display. It is not enough to be called a netbook because you expect to have some premium features, including a HD display and a dual core processor with NVIDIA Tegra 2.

While Chrome OS netbook Asus should be dirt cheap (the word is that it will sell for as little as $ 200), the Chrome OS netbook Sony is unlikely to sell for that price. In fact, the Japanese company has no history of launching economic machine. Just because this particular model is running an open source operating system, you cannot claim to be cheap, as long as it carries the brand name Sony.

Meanwhile Sony Insider is reporting that the netbook will also 1 GB of RAM, a 16 GB SSD and a battery of 8 hours. The netbook will also have a large almost complete keyboard size and lightweight design. At the time of the launch support WiFi only. Bluetooth and GPS options should be available later. No word on pricing at the moment.
