AMD is expected to launch new Fusion processors for mainstream desktops and laptops during the third quarter of this year. AMD Fusion platform has integrated graphics and CPU cores on a single piece of Silicon.

AMD E Series

Fusion power chip are efficient. They also offer decent performance. Fusion-based processors to ship were the first AMD C-30 and C-50 Ontario and E-350 Zacate APUs. These are designed for use in netbook and ultraportable notebook. And because they come bundled with powerful Radeon, they offer excellent graphics performance.

According to Digitimes, the new chip will belong to the family AMD Zacate. Among these, the AMDS E-300 and 450 are designed for notebooks. The top-of-the-line E2-3250 has a huge TDP of 65W that probably means that they will be doomed to the desktop computer. As the E-350, E-240, and 300 and E-450 will have a TDP of 18W.
