At this point, the Cowon D2 (and to a lesser extent, the D2 +) is a bit long in the tooth, and it seems like the Korea-based outfit an alphabetical jump backwards take will supplant. The new revealed C2 is scheduled to land at the end of April or early May to give barebones PMP users yet another alternative, with a resistive touch panel of 2.6-inch (320 x 240), a composite video output, microSD uitbreidingsgroef4/8/16 GB internal flash memory, USB 2.0 connectivity, a single microphone and a rechargeable battery that is good for up to ten hours of video playback (and a whopping 55 hours at the strictly listen to audio). Per usual, Cowon supports any file format under the Sun (and the Moon, for good measure), and we expect nothing less than the aural performance of world class on the basis of past of the company. We are still waiting to hear back on a price, but you can change your limbo time wisely by deciding on white, black, or gray.
